Honduras 2014... our first journey of hope.

Enjoy the pictures of our journey from North Carolina to Honduras, and during our mission .

First, I want to thank God to give us the victory in our first missionary trip. We took with us 16 boxes with shoes, clothes, baby items, prizes for the children of Honduras. We traveled on August the 5th, and came back on August 12th. During that week we visit "La Pintada” village. The village is a step back to a simpler time. The only building with electricity is the public school. Small garden plots of flowers and bananas or plantains surround the adobe, thatched houses. This is essentially a subsistence farming village inhabited by the Chorti Maya with the principal crops being corn and beans. Additional income comes from the sale of colorful cornhusk dolls made by the women and children of the village. We also visited Hope House orphanage. Hogar Esperanza/Hope House, located in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, opened its doors to the first two children in September of 2000. It is a home for orphaned, abandoned and abused children, a safe-haven that offers them the opportunity to become productive members in society, dedicated members in the kingdom of God, and agents of change (in their families, city, country and even the world if the Lord allows). The children receive a Christian education, nutritional meals, medical attention, clothing, shelter, spiritual training and guidance, plus love and affection that they have never known. In addition, we visited 4 churches in Honduras for their Congress. On August 10th we sponsored a family fun day in "El Porvenir, Honduras.  More than a 1,000 people went that day. They had a great time. Children play traditional games with prizes, had fun in a bouncing house, and they received balloons. That day more than 1,000 people were feed spiritually and physically. A doctor came to check and give vitamins, antibiotics and dewormers to the families. And, they received our SHOES!!!!!! It felt so good accomplishing the mission. Moms' and children's faces had a big smile. We meet awesome people and had an awesome experience. The team worked so hard putting effort, love and passion. Thank to you all for your support donating shoes, baby items, prizes, clothes, monetary donations and love. Please, enjoy the pictures.
